Summary: Specialized team leadership training to help teams become productive in 2-week increments, with additional emphasis on alignment at the program level by coordinating with other scrum masters, architects, and “Release Train Engineer” (RTE).
Delivery options: This course is delivered in-person or remotely, over 2 days (16 hours).
Who it’s for: For anyone who may “rotate” into a team leadership role for a scrum team (a team consists of 5-11 persons and delivers value in 2-week increments, with scrum master being an additional “hat” for one person). Key persons from TMO/PMO may also fill scrum master roles for various teams, but note that one or two will also need to operate as a SAFe® RTE (Release Train Engineer) and need the SAFe® RTE course.
Details: Attendees gain an understanding of the role of a Scrum Master in a SAFe® enterprise. Unlike traditional Scrum Master training that focuses on the fundamentals of team-level Scrum, the SAFe® Scrum Master course explores the role of the Scrum Master in the context of the entire enterprise, and prepares attendees to successfully plan and execute the Program Increment (PI), the primary enabler of alignment throughout all levels of a SAFe® organization. This includes learning the key components of Agile at scale development, how Scrum is facilitated throughout the enterprise, and how to execute Iteration Planning.
Attending the class prepares individuals to take the exam and become a Certified SAFe® Scrum Master and digital badge:
